so i went to a restaurant with my friend a few days ago. and i had my phone in my hand when i walked up to the host stand. the only greeting i got was the hostess, who was maybe 16 or 17, yelling at me, “SHUT UP! IS THAT A DARE?!” and pointing at my phone. i said yeah, and she said “OH MY GAWD LOOK, I HAVE THE SAME COVER ON MINE, OH WOW CRAZY RIGHT” and i just looked at her.

apparently i’m an old geezer now because i just don’t understand this “SHUT UP” crap now that ‘all the kids’ are using instead of “oh my gosh” or “no way”… it just seems rude.
